To better reflect their market position and showcase their exceptional materials, Devon Stone partnered with us to design and build a new website.

The goal of the project was clear: create a visually striking, high-performance website that would highlight their premium offering, improve user experience, and empower the client with easy content management. The result is a modern, image-led digital platform that not only elevates the brand but also drives engagement and usability across all devices.

Discovery & Strategy: Defining the Vision

The project began with a detailed discovery phase, where we worked closely with Devon Stone to understand their audience, commercial goals, and brand positioning. Key user groups included trade professionals and homeowners, each requiring slightly different journeys and content emphasis.

We mapped out user flows to ensure visitors could quickly navigate from inspiration to enquiry, with minimal friction. A major strategic priority was positioning the website as a visual showcase — placing Devon Stone’s premium photography and videography at the centre of the experience.

This phase also defined technical requirements, ensuring the platform would deliver fast load times, scalability, and a user-friendly content management system. Clear communication throughout this stage set a strong foundation, aligning both teams on goals, timelines, and expectations.

Image-Led Design: Showcasing Premium Quality

Design was driven by Devon Stone’s exceptional visual assets. We adopted a minimalist, image-led approach that allowed their high-end photography and videography to take centre stage. Large-format imagery, clean layouts, and subtle animations were used to create an immersive browsing experience.

Typography and colour palettes were carefully selected to complement the imagery without overpowering it, reinforcing a refined and premium aesthetic. The design prioritised clarity and visual storytelling, helping users immediately understand the quality and versatility of the materials.

We also ensured the design worked seamlessly across devices, with responsive layouts preserving the visual impact on mobile and tablet. The end result is a sophisticated digital presence that reflects the craftsmanship and attention to detail of Devon Stone’s products.

E-commerce Adapted: From Shop to Catalogue Experience

Although Devon Stone does not sell products directly online, their extensive product range required a structured and scalable way to present collections. To achieve this, we adapted a flexible e-commerce framework into a fully tailored catalogue experience.

This approach allowed us to leverage the strengths of e-commerce—such as structured product data, filtering, and categorisation—without introducing unnecessary purchasing functionality. Users can easily browse stone types, finishes, and applications in a way that feels familiar, intuitive, and highly organised.

We designed custom product templates that prioritise imagery while still accommodating key technical information. Filtering and navigation tools enable users to quickly refine their search, whether they are looking for inspiration or specifying materials for a project.

For the Devon Stone team, this setup also makes content management significantly easier. Adding new products or updating existing ones follows a clear, repeatable structure, ensuring consistency across the site while reducing admin effort.

The result is a powerful hybrid solution: the usability of e-commerce combined with the flexibility of a bespoke catalogue, perfectly suited to the client’s needs.

User Experience: Seamless and Intuitive Navigation

User experience was a core focus throughout the project. We simplified navigation and restructured content to make it easier for users to find products, explore inspiration, and make enquiries.

Clear pathways guide users through the site, while intuitive menus and filtering options help them quickly locate relevant materials. We reduced unnecessary complexity, ensuring each interaction feels natural and efficient.

Call-to-action placements were strategically designed to encourage engagement without disrupting the browsing experience. Whether users are exploring design inspiration or searching for specific materials, the site supports their journey at every stage.

The improved UX has resulted in a smoother, more enjoyable experience that better aligns with the expectations of a high-end audience.

Collaboration & Handover: Empowering the Client

One of the standout aspects of the project was the close collaboration with the Devon Stone team. Clear, consistent communication ensured transparency at every stage, building trust and enabling quick decision-making.

We provided regular updates, feedback loops, and opportunities for the client to stay involved throughout the process. This collaborative approach ensured the final product aligned perfectly with their vision and expectations.

At handover, we equipped Devon Stone with a user-friendly content management system and training, empowering them to take full control of their website. The client can now easily update content, add new projects, and maintain the site without technical support—saving time and increasing agility.

This combination of strong communication and easy usability has left the client confident in managing their digital presence moving forward.
